💻 Local Development

Prerequisites

• Node.js (v18 or higher)
• Yarn

Setup

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/yourusername/schoolpal-ai-website.git
cd schoolpal-ai-website

# Install dependencies
cd frontend
yarn install

# Start development server
yarn start

Visit http://localhost:3000 to view the website.

📦 Deployment to GitHub Pages

Step 1: Push to GitHub

1. Use Emergent’s “Save to GitHub” button
2. Create repository named schoolpal-ai-website (or your preferred name)
3. Make sure all files are uploaded

Step 2: Enable GitHub Pages

1. Go to your repository on GitHub
2. Click Settings → Pages
3. Select “Deploy from a branch”
4. Choose “gh-pages” branch
5. Click Save

Step 3: Deploy

Option A: Automatic (Recommended)

• Push to main branch and GitHub Actions will deploy automatically

Option B: Manual

cd frontend
yarn deploy
